So after a relaxing melatonin induced sleep of 16 hours. I think I'm ready to officially meet Berlin and life in Germany.
This morning....or should I say afternoon...as it was noon when I woke up was filled with first getting dressed, opening my computer and being called immediately by Laura Goodenberger to invite me out on the town with her hostdad, Klaus. Since they live on the way east side of Berlin, they are going to pick me up and show me Berlin etc.
So I came downstairs to a lovely German breakfast before I leave with Laura to go explore. I had a roll with jam, and then a sandwich of salami and cheese and some sort of berry tea. So I'm officially full for the rest of the day! I met Sigrun's oldest daughter, Suzanne and her husband and two little girls as well as my host sister Luisa and her friend Yana.
When I took a picture of breakfast they were all wondering what I was doing, but I think I freaked out my host dad more, by drinking water straight from the tap! ( An unheard of thing in Germany. It's safe I promise)
It looks like it might rain or snow outside, but the grass is still semi-green, so I will enjoy this outing.

^ This is the bed I'll be sleeping in for the next few months! SUPER comfy with an awesome down comforter! I have a closet and desk, also.
After putting things away, in a semi-asleep condition I think I probably still have some unpacking I'll do tonight and finding of things.
I gave Harald his posters immediately after he helped me up the stairs with my bag. He really liked them....just wait until I give them their other presents. I waited to give them their other presents until it is just the family that is home. I have more Harley-Davidson stuff for Harald and Sigrun, scarves and some flowers for the hair for the girls, and some food stuff.
Oh and I made new friends immediately with the dog, Spike! He's furry and friendly and will have to serve as my pseudo-puppy until I return. He currently is napping by my feet. I can tell we are going to be quite close. (BTW I hope my dog is feeling better. My bloodhound Mickey had to strain his back before I left, so he was all down in the dumps)
Harald and I have bonded pretty awesomely, because he has shown me all of his Harley stuff besides his bike...although I've seen it on his phone. He likes AC/DC and has recently cut off his ponytail. Oh by the way, if anyone can figure out a mystery for us, I would greatly appreciate it. He has a "Harley-Davidson Parking Only- No Cages Allowed" sign. What does "No Cages" mean? I couldn't answer it, so I need help! Explain please and you will be rewarded with German chocolate!
Bis dann!
