Sorry for the stress I've been putting everyone through but I think you should all know that I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and I"m pretty sure it's not a train coming to hit me!
Friday was my first day at school albeit a VERY MISERABLE ONE. Both of my eyes were so red and so light sensitive that paying attention in class was nigh impossible. (I will write about the class more in a few).
At the break I told Frau Hayden-Roy that I had to see a doctor, buyst seeing a eye doctor here is close to impossible because they have such a long waiting list. She took one look at me and thought it might be conjunctivitis....what laymen know as "pink-eye". I've NEVER EVER had pink eye....even as a child so this seemed like the on-going nightmare for me because it was in BOTH EYES!
Luckily, she had the name of a doctor who's office was barely a block from the school and he spoke English! HOORAY! So I quickly ran down the street and buzzed into his office. To some fluke of no one being sick or visiting that doctor, I got in right away and with one glance he gave me a prescription for antibiotic eye-drops. Granted he looked at me like I was retarded (which I won't deny in this case), when I told him that I didn't have glasses with me.
MURPHY'S LAW: I've never EVER had a huge problem with my eyes like this, and I wear contacts 24/7 anyway so I never figured on NEEDING glasses.
So this weekend I have spent mostly without contacts, administering eye-drops, and just feeling my way around my home and listening to music and movies. Surprisingly, when one sense is taken away and your body compensates, it also gets very tired VERY QUICKLY. I spent mostly all day yesterday waking up every two hours to put my eye-drops in and then fell back asleep for another two hours.
I've spent so much time in bed over the past week and a half, that all my pajamas I brought with me are dirty, so I've been finding new and creative things to sleep in. Currently, my summer wear are my new pajamas until Sigrun does laundry. So I look like the last grasshopper of spring every time I step foot out of my room.
Today my right eye is almost totally cured, and my left eye still won't take a contact yet, so I'm still babying it. My strep throat is ALL GONE! So I'm finally starting to feel like a semblance of my former self.
My host-father is back from the hospital today, thank goodness. He's still not his full self, but his color is better and I think he is just happy to be out of the boring hospital. I think this week when I finally have both eyes and both host-sisters are home I will give the family their presents. I know it will make Harald feel better and I will be sure to take pictures!

Regarding the first day of class, well what I managed to get out of it was that because my grammar is so crappy I'm stuck in a SUPER EASY class. I know the vocab pretty well, I read very easily, but it is the grammar I need. So I will see how this week goes and if it is still too easy I'm thinking about getting a tutor and trying to move up to the next class.
I also got to talk to my sis-in-law today and my ADORABLE niece on Skype today! It totally made my day, even if you were a little tired Amanda! I think that was the best medicine of all. Annaleis trying to brush my hair via Skype and giving me kisses and hearing updates from Amanda about the baby and Blair coming home and all the adventures of everyone around her. Thanks to everyone (especially Gwen) for being so wonderful to her and supporting her through this tough time. I want TONS of pictures when my nephew is born so I'm hoping I will get tons from everyone! Let the countdown begin until I have a new nephew: 15 DAYS!!!!!
