After waking up at 8am and pretty much having a hysterical meltdown because my contacts and eyes have been severely irritated and crying myself back to sleep, I was awakened by Sigrun who told me, my teacher on this trip, Priscilla Hayden-Roy was on the phone. She was very sympathetic to my illness and I told her I would meet her tomorrow to be caught up etc.
I then went back to bed until my parents woke me up with another phone call...cue breakdown number 2. For 20 minutes, they tried to pep talk me out of this terrible funk in which I found myself. The general gist of it all was "buck the eff up and you'll be ok," but they said it much nicer. Luckily my dad had a really good suggestion and suggested that I make myself get out of the house and go for a walk. During this whole illness, all I wanted was to be at home.
So I finally hung up with my wonderful parents and put some clothes on, ate a small sandwich, took my stupid antibiotics and took our dog Spike for a walk. Sigrun warned me that Spike pulls on his leash. I told her that was no problem because my dog REALLY pulls at home. Little did I know.....
My dog Mickey at home wears a choke chain.....Spike doesn't. So our walk was mostly Spike walking me around the neighborhood. I got to see a bit more Needless to say I felt very refreshed, if not exhausted at the end. Like my dad said, I need to get my endorphins flowing a bit more, since I've pretty much been out of the house only once this entire week to see the doctor.
I'm looking forward to school tomorrow whether I'm well or no, because I just need to get out and be social or else I'll never get better.
Just a shout out to all the people have been sending me get well wishes, they are HUGELY appreciated....sorry for the depressing blog post.
